A.J. is an illustrator, artist and young man with autism. He has been a long time member of VSAC and is one of the most well-known and beloved artists in the Art District on Santa Fe. Using colored pencil as his preferred medium, A.J. specializes in cartoon illustration, and colorful renderings of street caricatures that often possess light bulb and traffic signs for heads. He draws his inspiration from his love of comic books and cartoon shows. Through his work, he plays out his child like interests such as traveling through time, bringing inanimate objects to life and never having to grow old.
A.J.’s work has been exhibited at Metropolitan State College of Denver, Studio 6 Coffee shop and can often be seen hanging in Galleries throughout the Santa Fe Art District. A.J. would like to attend Denver Community College, continue developing his art skills and one day live on his own.
