One of our youngest Artworks Artists, Amie started with VSAC/Access Gallery in 2009 with no formal art training but an innate gift to draw and paint. As a first generation Cambodian with little resources and a tough upbringing, Amie has always been able to lose herself in art.
Using ink, a vintage pen, and colored pencils, Amie tells a story about her love for wolves and how she sees herself, friends and family taking on the spirits of these sacred animals through her art.
Since Amie started with Artworks, she has had the opportunity for the first time to explored block and mono prints and a variety of other mixed mediums. She was involved in the over all original design for the 2011 Peoples Fair Mural Project as well as the mural commissioned by Citizens Picture Inc. in their building. Also she was recently commissioned by the National Sports Center for the Disabled to design their 2011 Poster. Amie’s goals are to continue to grow as an artist, attend college and move out on her own.
