Whitney Kurka (she/her) has spent the past 20 years working across nonprofits, community organizations, and state agencies in roles centered on dignity, access, and meaningful support for individuals with disabilities. Her experience includes service coordination, policy advising, internal systems improvement, training, compliance, Medicaid regulations, and quality assurance.
She brings a balance of empathy and precision to her work, with strengths in both big-picture thinking and day-to-day problem-solving. As a board member, Whitney brings a systems-level understanding of disability services along with a strong belief in the power of creative expression. She is proud to support Access Gallery as it continues to grow, innovate, and champion the brilliance of its artists.

I became involved with Access Gallery because its mission sits at the intersection of everything I care about: creativity, community, and expanding opportunities for people with disabilities. I first learned about the organization through the annual 99 Pieces event, and the focus on artistic expression as a pathway to connection, confidence, and economic opportunity resonated deeply.
What makes Access Gallery meaningful to me is its authenticity. Artists are celebrated for their talent, not defined by disability. It’s a place where creativity builds connection and people discover their voice in ways that can shape their lives.
