Bio
Hi, I’m Skylar K. I’ve been part of Access Gallery since 2016. I took a two-year break while I was figuring out what I wanted to do with my life, whether that was art, fashion, or biology. By the time of the pandemic, I decided to focus on my art while going to school. I had gotten rusty and had almost quit, but quarantine helped motivate me to start creating again. Between Access and art school, I found my way back to making art.
I graduated from the Community College of Denver with an associate degree in studio art. Now I’m at Metropolitan State University of Denver working on my Bachelor of Art. I’m also an Honors student and part of The Jewelry Collective Club.
During quarantine, I created my True BFF characters. True BFF means being your own best friend. I have been bullied, and I wanted to create something kinder for myself and others.
Now I explore botany, collage, patterns, birds, and butterflies, inspired by anime, Monster High, MLP Equestria Girls, and artists like Warhol, Monet, and Van Gogh.
